The Virtuality Project
Monica Schauffler & Amy Wallisch, Lafayette High School requested a grant for Virtual Reality viewers for the media center. The VR goggles provide a state-of-the-art immersive technology that allows students to visit and explore environments that are otherwise inaccessible. Teachers from throughout the school can use the viewers to enhance their lessons, and individual students can check-out VR viewers, allowing them the opportunity for personalized inquiry. VR technology can engage students in topics related to geography, history, or literature by offering a deeply immersive senses of place and time. Simply imagine geography lessons where you can visit any place on the globe — this type of experience is much more enriching than just reading about it.
